Dermal Fillers In the Cheek

Regain a youthful curve to the cheeks making them higher and firmer through filler injections with secondary improvements in nose-mouth lines.

Dermal filler injections in this area can treat patients who have experienced deflation and descent of their cheeks. We can help to restore your cheek volume/add contour to the lateral cheekbone, resulting in a beautiful rejuvenation of your entire mid-face. Our sculpted cheek treatment will provide a secondary benefit of improving your “under eye” area.

If you feel conscious of your lip size, or would like to have more luscious volume, Juvederm dermal filler injections can provide spectacular results.

Our signature injection technique result in volumisation of your lips whilst remaining soft in texture/feel. Further benefits include definition of your cupids bow and hydration of the lip mucosa. We provide both 1ml syringe and 0.55ml syringe treatments.

Improve dark circles/hollowness under the eyes, leaving them looking refreshed, rejuvenated, with virtually no downtime.

Hollowness under the eyes, otherwise known as a “tear trough” is one of the earliest signs of the ageing process. A tear trough is a groove/interface between the lower eyelid and cheek, and is a common complaint in patients over the age of 25. Our bright eye treatment is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment performed with Juvéderm filler.

The chin can be redefined through injections to enhance beauty and definition in your lower face. If you suffer from a short, retracted/rotruded chin, this could be the perfect procedure for you.

Injections in the chin can improve overall proportionality of your facial structure, whilst having a secondary benefit of disguising any submental fat. Any pits, wrinkles or lines in your chin will also benefit from a natural improvement.

Develop the appearance of a smaller, slim lined nose with dermal filler.

This is otherwise known as the "liquid rhinoplasty”. Injections of Juvederm Voluma can improve the appearance of any bumps along the dorsum (bridge) of your nose, resulting in the illusion of a smaller, more streamlined nose. Our procedure can be an excellent alternative to a full, surgical rhinoplasty.

Produce a well defined, slim jawline with minimal downtime.

Patients can experience a loss of continuity in the jawline, often as a result of age-related jowling. Injections in the pre-jowl sulcus and mandibular angle can produce a defined, sharp jawline.

Hollowness in the temples can be effectively treated with strategic injections.

The natural ageing process can manifest as the breakdown of bone structure in the temple area, as well as loss of temporal fat and subcutaneous support in the area.Filler injections provide an instant result in this area, with secondary benefit to the tail of the eyebrow.

Forward projection of your forehead through filler injections to further enhance your beauty.

An advanced technique popular amongst both male and female patients, in particular our asian-oriental patients.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are synthetic gels, which when injected correctly provide beautiful cosmetic enhancements. Injections can fill facial wrinkles/creases, restore volume in areas of the face and also provide strong skin rejuvenation. The gels are manufactured from hyaluronic acid, a substance (sugar molecule) which naturally exists in the human body. Through the natural ageing process, the concentration of hyaluronic acid falls manifesting as loss of cheek volume, under eye hollowness or thinning lips. Our strategic injections result in a natural, beautiful restoration of ones features, which can achieve similar results to a facelift without the need for surgery. Accurate injections can also provide more structural changes in patients seeking improvements in their chins, jawlines or nose.

Which dermal fillers do you inject?

There are hundreds of different filler manufacturers in the UK, however at Skin Science clinic we only inject the most technologically advanced filler available on the market, Juvederm Vycross (manufactured by global healthcare company Allergan). The advanced cross-linking technology of the product results in a soft, malleable gel providing far more natural results than its competitors.  This unique cross-linking technology allows Vycross products to last up to 18 months, before the substance is naturally broken down by the human body. To date, 32 million Juvederm treatments have been successfully completed, a recent study reported 98% patient satisfaction through Juvederm treatments.

Are dermal filler injections painful?

We believe dermal filler injections are slightly more painful than botox injections, however are tolerated very well by our patients. We apply strong, topical anaesthesia + gel ice packs which numb the skin prior to injections ,which we perform through our ultra thin premium needles.  The super-soft nature of the product, results in a far less painful experience than rubbery/hard dermal fillers. For many of our dermal filler treatments, we use a “keyhole” technique, which results in just one injection per facial side of treatment.  Each procedure takes roughly one hour, which includes a through consultation, accurate drawings, photography and slow injection speeds to minimise patient discomfort. Bruising and swelling can develop post treatment, settling between 3-7 days post treatment.

How many syringes of filler will I need?

This is very much dependant upon each patients natural anatomy, age and previous cosmetic history. After a detailed facial examination, together with the patient we agree upon a detailed treatment plan. This will include natural improvements we aim to achieve through a combination of anti-wrinkle botox, Juvederm filler injections and premium medical skincare. From our experience, dermal filler injection results are best achieved through gradual improvements, over a period of time, rather than over-injecting in a single session. On average our patients have two syringes injected per treatment, with additional sessions throughout the year if/when necessary.

What support is available post-treatment?

Undergoing dermal filler treatments for the first time can understandably, be somewhat daunting. Post procedure we discuss after-care in detail, and our patients receive an emergency 24/7 phone number which they can contact for medical advice. Swelling and bruising is common, and we encourage patients to apply cold compress to areas which have been injected. Exercise should be avoided for a few days. The majority of our patients cover the bruising with minimal make up/concealer.  Further complications can occur with dermal fillers, but when injected correctly, safely and in a hygienic manner these are extremely rare. Patients are encouraged to arrange a two week follow up appointment to discuss results etc
