Central London Skin Clinic

HydraFacial is widely available, but the way it is delivered matters.

At Skin Science Clinic, our HydraFacial includes GlySal peel and Dermalux LED as standard, alongside deep cleansing, exfoliation, extractions and hydration.

Every treatment is performed by Freya, who adjusts the protocol to your skin's condition, tolerance and priorities on the day, rather than following a fixed routine.

The Assessment

Refined around your skin on the day

Before treatment begins, Freya assesses your skin's condition, sensitivity, congestion and priorities. This guides how the HydraFacial is delivered – including the peel strength, extraction focus and hydration support – rather than following the same routine at every appointment.

The Drainage Step

Lymphatic drainage for the Face + Neck option

For patients choosing HydraFacial Face + Neck, lymphatic drainage is included as part of the treatment. This calming stage helps begin the facial with a sense of lightness and prepares the face and neck before the cleansing, exfoliation and hydration steps that follow.

The Preparation

Cleanse and exfoliation

The treatment begins with a thorough cleanse and exfoliation to remove surface build-up and prepare the skin for the active stages that follow. This creates a cleaner canvas for the GlySal peel, extractions and hydration infusion.

The Resurfacing Step

GlySal peel included as standard

A GlySal peel is included as part of every HydraFacial at Skin Science Clinic. Freya adjusts the strength where clinically appropriate, helping to refine texture, support clearer pores and improve the overall finish of the treatment.

The Decongestion Step

Extractions without harsh squeezing

The extraction stage helps clear congestion using HydraFacial's suction-based technology, avoiding the need for aggressive manual squeezing. Freya can focus on areas where pores are more congested, while keeping the treatment comfortable and controlled.

The Hydration Step

Replenishment after exfoliation and extraction

After cleansing, peel and extraction, the skin is infused with hydration to leave it feeling fresher, smoother and more comfortable. This stage helps restore moisture and supports the visible glow patients often want from HydraFacial.

The Recovery Step

Dermalux LED included, not added on

Dermalux LED is included as part of our HydraFacial, rather than treated as a separate upgrade. It is used after the active treatment stages to help calm, support and settle the skin before you leave the clinic.

Finish

Aftercare with continuity

Your appointment finishes with practical aftercare advice from Freya, based on how your skin has responded. Because your HydraFacial is performed by the same practitioner, your treatment can be adjusted over time as your skin changes.

Before & After

Immediately after one HydraFacial

This before and after was photographed on the same day, with the second image taken immediately following treatment.

At Skin Science Clinic, every HydraFacial is tailored to the individual skin, combining cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration according to your skin type and concerns.

A HydraFacial Lip Perk was also performed to gently exfoliate and hydrate the lips, leaving them looking smoother, softer and more refreshed.

Continuity matters when your skin changes.

Your skin can change from one appointment to the next. Congestion, sensitivity, dryness, redness and barrier function can all vary depending on lifestyle, hormones, travel, skincare, weather and recent treatments.

At Skin Science Clinic, every HydraFacial is performed by Freya. This allows her to build a clearer understanding of your skin over time and adjust the treatment accordingly – from the GlySal peel strength and extraction focus to the hydration and Dermalux LED stages.

Every HydraFacial at Skin Science Clinic is performed by Freya. This allows for consistency, continuity and a clearer understanding of how your skin responds over time.

Most patients should book the HydraFacial - £145, which includes GlySal peel and Dermalux LED as standard. Patients who want to extend the treatment beyond the face should choose HydraFacial Face + Neck - £240, which includes the face and neck treatment area with lymphatic drainage.

Some patients may experience light peeling because our HydraFacial includes the GlySal peel. This is usually mild, but it depends on your skin type, sensitivity and the GlySal strength used. Freya can adjust or modify the peel stage if needed.

Most patients return to normal activities straight after HydraFacial. Some may experience temporary redness, tightness or mild sensitivity, particularly after the GlySal peel or extractions. If you are booking before an important event, we recommend allowing a little time beforehand, especially if it is your first treatment.

Many patients choose HydraFacial monthly for maintenance. Others prefer to book it before events, seasonally, or when their skin feels congested, dull or dehydrated. Freya can advise on the most appropriate frequency for your skin.

HydraFacial is usually best performed before injectable treatments. If you have recently had Botox, we recommend waiting at least three days before HydraFacial. If you have recently had dermal filler, we recommend waiting around two weeks.

HydraFacial may not be suitable if you have active sunburn, an active rash, infection, open skin, or certain inflammatory skin conditions. It may also be unsuitable during pregnancy, depending on the products and treatment stages being used. Freya will assess your skin and advise whether the treatment is appropriate on the day.

Yes, HydraFacial is often chosen before events because it can leave the skin looking fresher and more hydrated without significant downtime. If you are new to HydraFacial or have sensitive skin, we recommend booking several days before an important occasion rather than the day before.
