DR SARWAR SAYS

After conducting extensive trials, I am pleased to announce that we now offer polynucleotides at Skin Science Clinic. Polynucleotides are natural and highly purified DNA molecules that are extracted from the gonads of salmon. Their application in various medical treatments highlights their significant role in promoting cellular repair and regeneration. Polynucleotide-based injectable gels stimulate fibroblasts, enhancing elasticity, boosting collagen production, and hydrating the skin.

DEFINITION

Polynucleotide treatment involves injecting highly purified DNA molecules into the skin to stimulate cellular repair, enhance collagen production, and improve overall skin quality. Unlike dermal fillers, they do not add volume to the skin’s architecture.

Effect

Following polynucleotide treatment, your skin can expect to be firmer, smoother, and more radiant. Polynucleotides’ effects on the skin include increased hydration, improved elasticity, reduced fine lines, and enhanced overall skin texture. This treatment also promotes wound healing and improves the appearance of scars, making it a versatile option for various skin concerns.

A depiction of the science behind polynucleotides

Science

Polynucleotide treatments leverage the natural capability of DNA fragments to initiate and support cellular repair processes. When polynucleotides are injected into the skin, they activate fibroblasts, which are the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin—proteins essential for maintaining skin structure and elasticity. This helps maintain the skin’s firm structure. Furthermore, polynucleotides exert anti-inflammatory effects, which help reduce redness and swelling, promote faster wound healing, and recover from various skin conditions.

Procedure

We apply strong topical anaesthesia to the targeted area for approximately 10 minutes before the treatment. Once the anaesthesia has taken effect, Dr Sarwar will proceed with the injections. Three treatment sessions are recommended for optimal results, each spaced three weeks apart. This schedule allows the polynucleotides sufficient time to activate cellular repair mechanisms and stimulate collagen production effectively. Bruising post-procedure can last up to one week but can be covered with makeup.

Polynucleotide TREATMENT faq

Unlike fillers, which primarily add volume to targeted areas, polynucleotides actively stimulate cellular repair and collagen production, improving skin texture, elasticity, and overall health. This makes polynucleotides a more comprehensive solution for long-term skin rejuvenation.

We have chosen Plinest nucleotides manufactured by Mastelli. Mastering is an Italian company established in 1952. Mastelli has more than 100 publications, and everything is manufactured in-house. Their fish farms are rigorously controlled to ensure the quality and safety of the raw materials.

The collagen takes time to work, so you can expect to see results three weeks after your first treatment. The best results will be noticeable after you’ve completed the course and will last six to nine months.

Your skin will be slightly red and swollen immediately after the procedure. You may also experience pin-prick bleeding, bruises, and some itchiness.
